As AE6XE (Joe) mentioned in another thread, we are close to releasing the vtun-based virtual tunnel server and client scripts.

Here's a sneak peek into the two new admin pages in the GUI...

And currently, it takes a total of two (2) commands to install this on a node.  Very simple.

This is exciting to see...  It is something that could be utilized out here in our county because we have so many hills to contend with between users!

And wouldn't you know it, out of a PILE of Linksys routers I have squirreled away in the barn, none of them are GS's with v1, 2 or 3! eBay to the rescue! I have four on order and am impatiently awaiting the mail lady... Looking forward to tinkering with it! Bill - N5MBM

Just a reminder, Linksys devices are going End of Support April 30th. 

While the firmware and devices will continue to work after this date I strongly recommend for anyone looking at buying new hardware to support this feature I would recommend looking at the Ubiquiti gear.

Yeah...  But I have a hard time convincing old fart ham operators with tight wallets to spend that kind of money on a beginners node when Linksys routers can be had for 15-25 bucks...


But we are running Ubiquiti bullets for the actual link transmitters - the combo of the two seems to work well so far...  So far...

Hello Bill... I tried to leave a message for you on both of your Hamchat's but one of them is full and doesn't roll over. The other I got to just fine. I wanted to ask what end program I have to use to listen to your audio feeds. A simple browser does not work. Is there an app I need to add? 73 - Wil in Arizona.
