I have 2 WRT54G routers (1 v2, other V2.1) that were flashed with firmware 1.0.0 and working fine. I did the upgrade to 3.1.0 and on both routers, I can't DNS to work. I have 5 other versions (GS & GL) upgraded and all work fine. Is there a problem with the "G" that it won't accept the upgrade? Can the router be reset to original firmware without accessing web page setup? I cannot get to setup page because of the DNS  problem.

Never mind. I was able to login to routers with the gateway address using "ipconfig" with the port number 8080. Did the name and password and now everything is good.
