OK. I've mistakenly installed the 3.1.0 Linksys patch on my Ubiquiti nano loco M2!  Is there any way to recover?

The router appears to be running, I can ssh into it.  But when I try to get to the web interface (http://localnode:8080) I get the following message:

"The CGI process did not produce any response"

Is there anyway to recover? I've tried holding the reset button to start tftp but the router wont go into tftp mode.

Help!

-Jesse

Jesse,

Try holding the reset button longer than 12 seconds to get a full reset and reboot. There's functionality tied to the reset button and it differs depending on how long you keep it pressed.

Whew! I was able to reinstall the firmware via ssh (via port 2222) using the instructions from openwrt here: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.sysupgrade#copy_your_firmware_to_your_router

The key was to use the sysupgrade image.  The factory image causes an error.

Moral of the story: as long as you can connect to the router there is hope!

Rusty, I held the reset button and couldn't cause a reboot. I was hoping to go the tftp route but there was no change in the LEDs as indicated in the Ubiquiti documentation. (no Lamp test, flashing, etc.) But I was able to fix the problem by reloading the firmware via ssh, scp, and sysupgrade.

Interesting! Holding the reset button between 12 and 20 seconds is supposed to cause a restore to factory and then a reboot (forgot about the max of 20 seconds). The factory load is for when the unit has factory firmware, not BBHN. Afterwards, you always use the SysUpgrade files. Glad to hear you got it back up and running!!! (woot) :D
