Hi all,

I have a Ubiquiti UniFi AP on my home network right now and I'm contemplating the use of the Ubiquiti hardware (like a Bullet) to deploy a mesh node here at the home QTH.   I would really like to hear (either from someone who's been there, or someone who is concerned) about their experiences with interoperation between two wifi nodes in the same location.   Hell, I can hit my AP from a good hundred yards away, so the signal strength is obviously there, and I don't doubt that they WILL collide.

I assume at some point I'll be probably modifying either the AP or the mesh node to stay away from one or more channels (frequencies).    It's been a couple years since I modified the AP parameters, so I can't even remember what channel it's operating on, so this should be a bit of an adventure...

Has anyone else done it?  Any words of advice?  Do I just make sure the frequencies don't collide?  Is that even necessary?

As long as you leave channel selection on auto, they will avoid each other automatically.
