I've tried adding an avatar, entering my location, entering in a signature ...

nothing gets recorded, and I always get an error.

Topic : Password recovery on Ubiquiti Bullet M2HP

I have a Rocket M2 flashed with 1.1.2 and have tried every password I can think I may have used.

I tried 5 seconds on the reset button on the device, but nothing seems to change.  Any ideas how the reset/recover the password for this device?

I have it currently connected to a windows 10 machine...

Thanks,

Ron

Forum : How we used HSMM-MESH™
Topic : Webserver

Hi,

I've been out of the loop for quite some time. I just flashed 3 of my routers that had the old Hamnet firmware on them to 3.1. So I am considering myself 'back in the loop'! I was a webmaster  for a long time and I was wondering why not install a full blown webserver on a laptop (i.e. XAMPP, etc.). Once you have a webserver there are tons of applications that can be added, email, BBS, etc. That is where I am hoping to head on my end. I don't really have anyone in my area doing Ham Broadband. I am hoping to get a webserver up and running on my node with a couple of external antennas and then encourage some other local hams to join me.

Topic : WiFi AP Recommendations

In the HSMM-Mesh software (Linksys) there is an Access Point (AP) defined. A bit tricky to use, but it does work, at least most of the time.  ;-)

My question to everyone is whether there really is any reason to not just connect any wireless router as an access point and to hook it into the mesh router? The more I think of it, I cannot tell why a Mesh AP is useful, but I may be missing something.

Perhaps there are config things to consider like DHCP, timing, gateway definition and so on -- but that shouldn't be much different than having tiered routers.

Any insights?

One thing I notice that could very well be causing the problem is that your phone's Application Load ID is for SCCP and not SIP. Thus, changing the TFTP server IPs and unlocking configurations is a little different (If I recall correctly: **#) as well as explaining why it is looking for a SEP## instead of a SIP## file.

Take a look at the video here for changing from SCCP to SIP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=690-4S2CS5U. Let me know how it goes!

Are these still available? I'd be very interested if you were willing to wait until just after the holidays, but would be willing to make a purchase sooner. Do they also have the AC adapters?

I'm down here in Tracy, and don't see any coverage in my area. I've like to see if I can extend and connect the Bay Area to us here in the central valley. If anyone is interested in helping me connect to Sac or "over the hump" to Livermore, let me know! I'll be setting up an Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 (22dbi) on 5Ghz.

Trying to understand current status of the device and installing the Mesh updates.  If the version isv5.6.2 (XM) with the latest boot version has a upgrade been created to allow using the currently sold device?

Hey, thank you for the reply. The back of the phone says CP-7940G. The front says 7940 series. When I purchased the phone, the details were stated that was a refurbished SIP phone. When I browse to the phone, here's what the Device Information reports: MAC Address #####FD####A Host Name SEP#####FD####A Phone DN App Load ID P00307020300 Boot Load ID PC0303010100 Version 7.2(3.0) Expansion Module 1 Expansion Module 2 Hardware Revision 4.4 Serial Number INM#####PPF Model Number CP-7940G Codec ADLCodec Amps 5V Amp C3PO Revision 2 Message Waiting NO Gotcha on the 7941 using SEP files. That makes it really strange why a 7940 phone would use a 7941-style SEP file. Wondering if it has something to do with the Host Name value starting with "SEP". Hmmm... Anyway, your reply is greatly appreciated, Paul. (BTW, I really appreciate your work in the videos. You're a good teacher.) Todd N9ZWY

I found a little bit of time right now (I'm curled up in bed).

Is it indeed a 7940 phone? Or is it a 7941? The 7940 and 7941 use different firmware and configuration files. The 7940/7960 phones use the files attached to the video (SIP______.cnf). And since I never owned a 7941/7961 phone, I never made configuration files for them. Nonetheless, the 7941/7961 phones use the SEP______.cnf.xml files.

More information on configuring the 7940 and 7941 phones can be found here: http://loss4words.livejournal.com/561529.html

Firmware for the 7941 phone can be found here (you want SIP): http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/collaboration-endpoints/unified-ip-phone-7941g/model.html#~tab-downloads
